2002                                                                                                     After careful research into various breeds of sheep a decision was made to
commence a Dohne Stud. We purchased the following ewes that were inseminated by the ET program and were pregnant.

·   Eleven Merino ewes from Roseville Park in Dubbo NSW

·   Ten Merino ewes Uardry in Hay NSW

·   One Dohne ram from Potari in South Australia.

2004

In 2004 we flew to NSW with the Elders agent to purchase the following ewes
and ram

·   Four ewes from Macquarie Dohne Stud in Warren NSW

·   Three ewes from Kardinia Dohne Stud in Corawa NSW

·   Two ewes from Hendrik Dohne Stud in Savernake NSW

·   The purchase of one ewe

2004 Hamilton Ram Sale

·   One ram from Macquarie Dohne Stud in Warren NSW at $3,500 top price ram, AA MD03-696, sold to Brian Glassel, Toolern Vale.

·   One ram from Hendrik Dohne Stud in Savernake NSW

2004/5

With the ten ewes and two rams purchased in 2004 we embarked on an ET program with mixed success.

2005/6

Another ET program with Riverina Genetics was commenced using eggs supplied by Hendrik Dohne Merino Stud in Savernake NSW with slightly better results.

2006

My partner after seeing the bills for the ET program and the results suggested we try the old fashioned way as she felt the rams would enjoy it more. It was decided to purchase a further twelve ewes to increase the flock.

·   Eight AA and ten A ewes from Orana Dohne Stud in Mudgee NSW

2007

My partner and I flew to Armadale NSW to purchase further ewes.

·   Twenty ewes from New England Dohnes

·   ET program conducted by EweTec P/L in Walcha NSW used twenty eight ewes originally from Wirrabilla Stud that produced two hundred thirty eight Dohne lambs. The ewes and lambs were purchased.

2008

Our focus in 2008 was to increase the flock and commence sales of rams and prime lambs.

2009

In 2009 two first prizes were won at the Royal Melbourne Show for best ewe       and ram fleece. Refer to wool results.

2010

The Dohne stud now runs 350 breeding ewes plus a commercial flock of 200 ewes, and six stud rams for breeding.
